This custom made stoneware crèche was hand shaped. The glaze used on this piece is custom mixed made for firing in an electric kiln at high temperatures. I finished the glaze in a gloss so it works well as a decorative piece and is lightweight and comfortable to hold.
Stoneware fired at high temperatures are known to be very durable - with proper care, this piece can last for centuries.
